6th grade Illusionists in class!

This past week, 6th grade artists were using perspective concepts to create the illusion of SPACE in their drawings. We used rulers, pencils and erasers to focus on the drawing techniques to create images that look like they are exploding off the page OR going off into the distance. We are using these drawings as tool to learning about creating DEPTH in our artworks. The kids were focused and had great energy as we worked together on our drawings. Next up...shoe box dioramas! Students will use their first River to River research project or their Social Studies "This is Me!" project as their inspiration. They will collect imagery that they will use to create foreground, middle-ground and background in their artwork. We will also work on our craftsmanship as we will focus on our cutting and construction skills. All sculptures will be complete and displayed in time for conferences!
